Box Simulator: Special Delivery

You are responsible for a Special Delivery in a space where reality and virtual merge.

Behold: a state-of-the-art box simulator the world has never seen! This Box Simulator was developed at a Unity NYC VR game jam. 

Materials you will need include a 20x20 space with an HTC Vive, 2 controllers and an optional  tracker mounted in the center of one of the 18x24 faces of a Large Home Depot box 18x18x24 (or your second controller mounted there) .

Index finger triggers pick up of objects, Thumb controller on top spawns interactive people.

Single Player Single Device Option: Collect fun items on a subway platform and experiment with AMAZING box physics. One controller becomes the box and the other serves as your hand.

Multiplayer option: Team up with a friend to help guide them in virtual reality to collect the items that only you can see but only they can pick up!  Or, hold the box while they load (silly tricks on friends available here).  Spawn versions of the crowd and stand in place... see what happens when you spawn and bump into it with the box. It's fun to start with object collection followed by spawning when you get started.

Today we’ll take you on an adventure with some of your favorite things.  Fill your box with objects you care about.  Here you will find everything from Tim Wheelock’s model of the International Space Station, Jane Goodall’s most famous Gorilla, Coco and Richie Haven’s original acoustic guitar.  Collaborate in multiplayer mode, and turn the mundane into extraordinary.
